We Are Still Friends Poem by Ray Hansell

We Are Still Friends

Life use to be so lonely
The night were very cold
I thought I’d never find love
As I was growing old

But one day my life was changed
That’s when I knew I’ve found
The woman I wanted to love
Then build my world around

So quickly our love grew
With each and every passing day
I’d always find a reason
To wander down your way

Then before we knew it
Together, love we shared
We both found it so easy
To love the other and care

But the world we were sharing
Was a dream world indeed
We both knew we were wrong
But we filled each others need

As fast as we started
Faster we watched us end
We went our separate ways
To this day we still are friends
