We Are Rebels Within An Age Of Reason Poem by David Lacey

We Are Rebels Within An Age Of Reason

Surrender to the splendour of your vision
For within your eyes I foretell the swelling of heart ache.
A soul once shaking is now breaking
Shattering eggshell fragments upon the pavement.
Thunder hath awoken me from my slumber
And here I remain, numb to the world outside dissolving

We are rebels within an age of reason
Pumping our veins with ecstatic fuel.
Finding ourselves drooling at the image
Of a princess upon a lake of love.
