Water And Ink Poem by Carly Hagerty

Water And Ink

Rating: 5.0

I wanted to drown
In those oceans you call eyes
And stay locked inside your heart
Where it is always warm.

You wanted to drown
In the lake by your house
And sleep within the trees
Where it is always cool.

I wanted to steal the ink
From your bloodstream
And carry it in my brain
So that I could save you.

You wanted to steal the color
From your eyes
To see the world in a new way
And save me from yourself.
