Water Poem by Kennedy Huston

Water

Rating: 5.0

The brain cells stop moving
frozen
his lips are blue
darker than the sky
shivering
they pulled him out too late
his eyes stuck
wide open
from hypothermia
his lashes cling to the cold water
the last sign of life
holding on
before his heart stops beating
breathing the water into his lungs
constricting
like the life he lived
until he jumped off the bridge
into the ice cold water.
