Watching Tears Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Watching Tears

Mind rattling, shaking thoughts around within sadness and
loneliness, giving rise to messages of hope and conscious-
ness.

Watching as tears rise and fall like waves of the ocean,
washing over, purifying my mind of sorrow with their lov-
ing balm.

Lost, forlorn, aimlessly walking through the darkness of
loss and grief, lying awake night after night, alone in
what used to be our bed.

Crying because you're not here any longer, finally falling
into a torturous and restless sleep throughout this dismal
night without you, my dear.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is such an intense and intensely beautiful poem it affirms the Power of Love to stretch beyond this world of mortality and reach an eternal realm. I have no doubt that the union of faith and love in this poem makes it a Letter to Eternity. I don't have your degree of faith, but I embrace it fully as I read these words. There are many words that are painful to write - forlorn, grief, dismal - because they refer to your loss, but the poem as a whole radiates LIGHT in the spiritual sense. And the very closing is an image of inner peace.
