Watakushi No Namae, Shania Desu (My Name Is Shania) Poem by Shania Brown

Watakushi No Namae, Shania Desu (My Name Is Shania)

Juuroku sai desu (I'm sixteen)
The road I journeyed upon was rough
So many tears and so many smiles
But elated to have experienced such times
They sculpted the being before you

Wakarimasu ka (Do you understand?)
I thought these challenges would break me down
Then a light beamed upon my eyes, touching my soul
A pencil and paper

Something so simple saved my suffering faith
My kotoba (words)
My soozooryoku (imagination)
My shizoo (heart)

With these things I became something
Desired to grow and improve
To achieve and prosper
A shijin (poet)
Creating with such azayaka na (vivid) detail

Each shi (poem) is a piece of my jinsei (life)
And shinjiru (believe)
Arigatoo gozaimasu (thank you)
