Wastin' Time Poem by Tiffany Rose Moczydlowski

Wastin' Time

Rating: 2.8

Today I was driving on the highway
Thinking about yesterday
Sitting there reflecting on
How much of my life I've wasted away

Cuz lately all I've been doing
Is sitting around with my pain
I haven't once looked at the bright side
I haven't noticed the good things

I shouldn't be wasting my time
I shouldn't be going on about how life is tough
I'm not gonna sit around wishing and wasting all of my time
I'm gonna live life to the fullest
And nothing's holding me back

My brother used to tell me
''Whenever something's wrong
Don't let it keep you down.''
I just gotta keep going on
Without a trace of a frown

I was staring at the stars last night
Wondering what to do with my life
When I realized
With every darkness there's a light
Like the stars in the sky

I don't have to go through my life
Acting like I'm blind
Stumbling through the pitch-black darkness
Searching for the bright times

I'm not gonna be wasting my time
I'm not gonna go on about how life is tough
I'm not gonna sit around wishing and wasting all of my time
I'm gonna live life to the fullest
And nothing's holding me back

Nothing's holding me back
Nothing's holding me back

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Rajendran Muthiah 15 July 2012

If there is dark, there is light. Step on the wrong experience to see the right. If there is winter, there will be spring-said Shelley. There are sparks of knowledge here and there in this long poem. The repetition of a stanza and the last line gives a song -like quality to the poem. As you are growing up, your expression will be enriched.
