Washed Away Poem by angel lockheart

Washed Away

Angel’s wings
So grey they’re black,
Enfold him in sadness,
A darkness with no hope,
As rain dispenses around him,
Beating a dark rhythm onto his wings,
Surging in currents down his face,
Mixing with his spicy hot tears,
Crashing to the ground with such vigor,
It shakes the underworld,
Resounding to the Heavens,
Where the Angels hear him,
his silent tears of hatred,
For himself & what he’s done,
And they gaze down at him,
& see another figure
His wings so white they’re silver,
Glowing with purity and kindness,
Standing right beside him crying too,
Because He can feel this man’s sadness,
That runs so deep it has no end,
And He can’t stand one of His children,
Going through this alone,
So wordlessly He walks in front of the man,
And cups His hands right under his face,
Catching the tears,
And with them,
He takes in everything bad the other man’s done,
The sins he’s committed,
Every evil thought that entered his head,
And takes them onto Himself,
Seeing his wrongs as if on a slide show,
And with each splash of rain
On the man’s murky wings,
There washes away the darkness,
The rain dropp turning black
And then running down and away,
As if washing away the color on a picture,
And He absorbs those too,
And soon the black turns to light grey,
And then to a dim white,
Growing brighter with each rain drop,
Until it is glowing like His was before,
But when the angel’s turn their glance back to Him,
They see that His wings are now glowing red,
Having taken in all the sins
That the other man had committed,
And washing him clean.

When the other man looks up,
he looks around him in wonder,
his tears having stopped in awe,
And He takes the man’s hands,
And a stone stair case appears,
Ascending up before them,
Disappearing through the clouds,
And together they walk up to Heaven.
