Was your love just a dream.....
Did it ever belong to me?
Or was it a breeze whispering to the trees,
Those words spoken so tenderly?

Was your love just a dream.....
Was it the music and the wine?
This love I feel, tell me it was real,
Lay your last bouquet at my shrine

Was your love just a dream.....
These memories of you seem real,
They come and go like a late Spring snow,
But I can't deny what I feel

Was your love just a dream.....
Am I soon to wake up and find
When day is past, and shadows fall fast
Love only lived in this fool's mind?

Was your love just a dream.....
Could a dream recall such a thrill?
I drank from your well 'til darkness fell,
How I drank! ..... but I'm thirsting still

Was your love just a dream.....
Could a dream make my spirit soar?
The truth I fear, so whisper in my ear
That you love me.... and will evermore
