Was It You Poem by jess schwarcz

Was It You

Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Was that you, was that you
That tried to save me last night?
Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Or was it just me?

Every morning I wake up to see your grave.
Every night I see your dying face.
And I wish it was you that they had saved.
Why didn’t they save you?
Why didn’t they save you?

Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Was that you, was that you
That tried to save me last night?
Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Or was it just me?

Remember the times that I would tell you,
“I don’t know what I will do without you,
And if you died, you know I would die too,
So we’ll have to live forever”
So why didn’t you life forever?

Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Was that you, was that you
That tried to save me last night?
Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Or was it just me?

I barely made it through the days with you.
It was your love, your never-ending love,
That helped me through the bad, and darkened days.
Why did you have to leave?
Why did you have to leave?

Is it just me,
Or are you really here with me?
Is it just me,
Or are you really here with me?

Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Was that you, was that you
That tried to save me last night?
Was that you, was that you
Who called me last night?
Or was it just me?
