Wartime Emotion Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Wartime Emotion

Life is a mix of human emotion
Hatred, love and devotion.
To 'love thine enemy' is elementary
We've heard it before!
But love is out of the question
When a desperate world is at war
And the ongoing fight is not o'er.
Hatred is there and everywhere
In the dark of the midnight air
To the rise and fall of the sun.
Drastic words are spoken...
Artillery and infantry in motion
Unpleasant story of lost glory.

But God helps our love survive
As He did in days of olden times.
'Love Thine Enemy' - we will try!
At the end of the battle cry.
