Warrior's Love Poem by Ice

Warrior's Love

Rating: 5.0

I was a warrior born and raised;
I fought many battles throughout the days;
But my end was coming near..
As i watched the approaching armies draw closer near;
I knew the battle was lost;
The war over;
And my existance gone;

As i waited for their attack,
I planned my defense,
As they charged I thought about my life,
And If i lived it to the fullest,
But I didn't think long for the armies were there,
I drew my sword and charged,
Knowing the fight was hopeless I still fought,
As others turned and ran, I stood and fought;
I wasnt fighting for my life or my men's life,
I fought for my love hiding beyond the wall,
I was her wall, her defense, and her only hope

As I was struck with an arrow and as I was dying I thought about giving up,
But then I heard something I've never heard before,
A scream of my love,
She was in pain!
I got up, surprising my enemies and I fought harder than ever, To save my love from her torture
I fought to her side and held her near,
Then watched as she was hit by an arrow,
My love gone, Why should I fight?
At that moment I saw her, a ghost now, She told me to fight for her,

Knowing my strength was faiding, I knew I didn't have much time left,
Through tears and great effort I charged the entire army,
My armies fallen,
My kingdom gone,
I charged all of them and the whole time I cried,
Not from the pain of their swords and arrows,
But for losing the greatest thing anybody can have,

I really enjoyed reading this warriors tale. You didn't lose. You won and love has no barriers that can seperate lovers for long. A real gripping read. Thanks for sharing it, Tai, a warrior too!
