Warrior Poem by Ashlee Woods

Warrior

When days turn to night,
And the skies lose their light,
A warrior sits, searching...
Trying with all her might
To find one more reason left to fight...

It's when night time falls,
She relives the days of bliss
But she could never have imagined such pain as this.
In her bottomless cries, in her regret
A warrior, once strong, longs to forget

The feeling of betrayal is very real,
And nothing can numb the pain she feels.
Whilst doubts have set in,
The hurt is still reeling,
And she begs of her mind to let go of this feeling.

But her heart has been torn from her chest.
And letting him close,
Has left her with emptiness

With regret,
She stands her ground,
She buries her feelings,
Never to be found
And whilst the walls around her had crumbled,
She rebuilds them higher than before
She knows it won't be the same
But can no longer have her heart played like a game.

...Whilst the warrior tried
She found nothing but loneliness inside
And whilst it's not hard to point blame,
She won't say his name
For all that would bring,
Is a heart full of pain

Ashlee what a tremendous expression of emotion! Sometimes the pain may soften for another; but sometimes one decides never to endure that again. This is beautiful.

Although sad, the beauty of this is knowing that pain heals and broken hearts mend. There's always room for more then one warrior in our lives!

Nicely constructed poem that truly depicts the pains and suffering of a lost love. Well done!
