Warped Happiness Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Warped Happiness

Rating: 4.7

Cut skin,
Matching Tattoos,
Alluring night,
Tantalizing moon,
Friends were on drugs
Sauntering down
The summer avenues,
Hands clasped tightly
By romantic youths
With sexual aspirations!

We made promises
To each other
Amid the madness
To remain
Tragically in love
And never change,
I wish we would have died
Back then
In our warped happiness.

A wish made by so many of us... but then you realize that you don't want to miss out on future promises and suffering. This is a brilliant poem. One of the best I have read recently. GS

I really liked this one. The first few lines drew me in...Matching tattoos! Yikes. :) Sounds like one person moved on, grew up and the promises weren't kept. A lot came through in just a few words. I love poetry like that!
