War Is Pointless Poem by Troy Nichols

War Is Pointless

What is the meaning of war?
Pointless if you ask me.
Young men so strong.
Full of future feeling free
Doomed to die under a foreign sky
Bullets fly bombs explode
The earth shakes. The earth groans
Mothers cry as they receive the flag.
Then they know there child is truly dead
War is pointless if you ask me.
All it does is kill young men and women in the name of democracy.
As children cry for fathers not seen.
As Wives sob for lovers now gone.
War is pointless don't you see.
That is only if you ask me.

War is pointless i agree but imagine if we did not fight what language would we be speaking right now because i know it would not be english as the japs and germans would of walked through us and just think what would of happened during ww1 and ww2 if we didnt fight. i do agree that war has no point but there was only 1 way to stop the germans and the japenese. so my point is war is pointless but we still need to fight it....

violence begets violence, love begets love. it is not the solution for the security of the future. war creates division within and outside, there is no consistency and it changes with time. the only certain result is death of civilians and of innocent soldiers blinded by a certain dogma. good write!
