War Poem by Nikhil Sharad

War

Steady,
They think you've lost,
Stay down,
Breathe out dust.
It's not time yet,
Let them laugh some more
As you muster strength.

Is the fire, in your heart out?
Remember your brothers
Who fought and fell.
Their pyre still burns
Painting the sky red.
While you're down,
Count your dead.
They seek vengeance
In martyr's heaven.

Extend your arm
Grab that hilt,
Your blood-stained blade
Asks for more
And the motherland demands
Your enemies' guts.

It's time;
Hear the clamor
When sword meets armor.
Let that thunder
Quiver your veins.
Let that roar
Ripple in your chest.
Get up now,
Cause distress.
Rise as death, hunt them down.
Annihilate!
