War Poem by J.B. LeBuert

War

Rating: 5.0

War never determines who's right
It only determines who's left
The winner usually has more might
War never determines who's right
Sometimes the soldiers don't want to fight
It's the mothers who are left bereft
War never determines who's right
It only determines who's left

a toilet structured poem? oops. that's troilet! never heard of one, but i like it. i find this to be a very truthful, though partial, evaluation of war. i was a 70's conscientious objector. when will God come down and straighten out all of our messes? ? [i don't believe there is a 'real' god, by the way.] war does have some good effects (sometimes) : boosting an economy and controlling a population and spurring technological development. but a world without war and more-minor conflicts would be preferable in my eyes. i saw a title about a hat somewhere. i'll take a look. i decided to look at 'you' and your poems 'cause your photo looked like me, an old guy in big hat. bri :) thanks for sharing.
