Wanda’s Tornado Poem by Marilyn Lott

Wanda’s Tornado

Rating: 5.0

I cannot begin to imagine
What it’s like to be in a tornado’s path
It has to shake the soul of man
To be part of nature’s wrath

Our home is such a sanctuary
It’s supposed to be a protected place
To have that torn away from us
To feel that we’re no longer safe

To have everything we own just
Ripped apart with the wind
Everything gone in seconds
And have to start over again

And that’s what happened to Wanda
Thank God for the sturdy bathtub
One day her life changed forever
She felt like she’d been hit by a club

It takes strong and determined people
To begin their lives over again
And many have done it many times
One of nature’s greatest sin

But I guess that’s part of life
And there’s nothing that can be changed
Let’s pause and think about these folks
Who's lives are totally changed!
