Wallflower Poem by Ashley Wilson

Wallflower

She fades into the black of the shadows
Remaining only as a whisper in time
Hiding the pain deep inside her
The star that's refusing to shine

A flower that is losing it's beauty
As each delicate petal departs
Each secret becomes ever more twisted
In the thorns that grow close to the heart

The strength of the ocean remains constant
Nothing can stand in it's wake
Though misery often pursues her
She is a tide that refuses to break
