! Walking On Eggshells Poem by Linda Ori

! Walking On Eggshells

Rating: 3.6

Must I walk on eggshells
Be carefull what I say
Just be sweet
Avoid the heat
And hold the hounds at bay;

Keep my thoughts within me
Avoid a nasty scene
Zip my lip
Or let it rip
But try not to be mean;

You're asking quite a favor
Not sure I can comply
I won't be shushed
My buttons pushed
I cannot tell a lie;

I will not walk on eggshells
I have a perfect right
To spill my guts
I may be nuts
But I don't want to fight;

So let's just call a truce here
Agree to disagree
I love you still
I always will
But please, let me be me.

Tell it like it is, Linda! ! A poem as much as it is an announcement, drawing that imaginary line in the sand and making it clear that you have a voice. A voice that will not be muted or squelched…a voice that will be heard loud and clear. Awesome.

We give, those we love, so much power over us. And then, there comes a time we just have to say, enough. Lovely poem Linda.
