Wake Up Society Poem by MaCheka Singleton

Wake Up Society

Day by day
Night by night
Hot as fire
Cold as ice
Gun shot wounds
Getting stabbed in the back
Emergency rooms are over flowing
Grave yards are steadily getting pack
We constantly run around
Not knowing what lies ahead
Not varing about who's getting hurt
Or who's ending up dead
Until it happens to one of us
Or to someone that we love
The we start crying and praying to the Lord above
Oh my God, that's only a child
Lord what have they done
They should have thought about that
Before they started shooting that gun
