Wake Up Sleeping Beauty Poem by Macwolls Kay

Wake Up Sleeping Beauty

Wake up sleeping beauty
Wake up I say to you,
Wake up and get to work
Your children are hungry, your children are starving
Your animals are thirsty and soon they will die.

Wake up sleeping beauty, Why are you still at sleep if I may ask?
The plunder is over, they left many years ago.
They took all they could carry but your granary is vast,
They took your son but your family is big.

Wake up sleeping beauty
Wake up from this slumber,
Your body is strong and your wounds have healed.
Lift your soul raise your spirit and move on high.

Wake up sleeping beauty, wake up and tend to your children,
They roam the great savanna, inquisitive souls,
They need your guidance, they need your hand.

Wake up black beauty, sleep no more,
Wake up and calm your children, calm your tribes
Senseless rivalry senseless conflicts.

Wake up sleeping beauty,
Get to your feet, time moves on, time will not wait
your sisters are up and making great strides.

Wake up sleeping beauty,
You have slept too long
Wake up and till your rich fertile soils,
Wake up and claim your gem laden rocks

I see Black gold I see green gold,
I see Beautifully planes nature in abundance.
I see a people rich in culture.

I see much more than my eyes can see,
Wake up black beauty,
Wake up and sing your tune.
