Wake Up, Dreamer Poem by Paula Glynn

Wake Up, Dreamer

Rating: 4.5

Wake up, dreamer,
You're dreaming again,
You are lost in fantasy,
Dancing down a yellow brick road,
With your ruby heels clacking,
And your heart bouncing with glee,
For you are a dreamer,
You are lost in your dreams,
And you dance,
Like the greatest dancer.

You sing your song,
As you celebrate your dreams,
And run through,
The fields of paradise,
As if you had reached,
The end of your journey,
Known as life,
With only freedom and happiness.

But you are just in your bed,
Imagining all kinds of joy,
From the most delicious meal,
To the most beautiful sunset,
And most wonderful nightlife,
Where neon lights,
Light up your heart.

Colourful people,
Make your dreams magical,
And you dream,
Of the most beautiful clothes,
And the most sensual perfume,
As you dance through the night,
And you celebrate the neon lights,
For all the world is your stage,
Your heart to imagine time,
Will not turn the page.

But you're real:
Your dreams are not,
I live my life,
So dream on, dreamer,
And look to the sun,
To see the real path,
Of a life so wonderful,
You will never be alone again.
