Opportunity knocks at the right time
like an eclipse of the moon
but I cannot understand how Mother Earth
is calling some of her children
to leave too soon
innocent lives lost through negligence
in houses caught on fire
for some bitter reason or the other
those failing to accomplish their dream
to retire

fleet of vehicles along the highway
high of a cost
out of haste and less speed
innocent lives lost
children and women tortured
at the hands of ruthless men
trapped by greed
what insanity and indecency
plague this society for every creed

where is the justice
to prove who is wrong
the inmates in the prison cells
remain safe
while the hope of citizens drags along
what culture are we creating
to meet the challenges of tomorrow
with so many broken marriages and children
left unattended in sorrow

wake up and listen to the voice
within that more souls can be save
the future to mold the minds
should be disciplined rather than
sent to the grave
as spiritual witnesses to the truth
let peace prevail
for the common good of humanity
let our leadership not fail.
