Waiting For Escalation Poem by Alyssa Lynn

Waiting For Escalation

I can’t wait forever, sooner or later I’m sensing I’ll change my mind. I’m waiting, waiting just for a kiss, not a miss. Yet I wait, creating any possible opportunity, yet it stays the same ever unchanging. So tell me how do we be more than friends if nothing escalates? If instead of being on play or fast forward we’re stuck on pause, counting maybes, and well we’ll sees? So are you going to do something? Was I wrong are we better off as friends? I’m not sure what I’m thinking? Magic when our lips touch? I mean honestly, you barley even touch my hand, yet I try to hint as if waiting for those goose bumps, but how can there be Goosebumps if nothing escalates? What’s a girl to do, when she’s on the edge of making up her mind, yet nothing changes, nothing escalates. Soon I sense, no communication, soon I sense awkward conversation. But the thing is I could’ve sworn we had the potential to go somewhere….but the more we’re in pause the more I start to wonder…..if we’re getting anywhere?
