Waiting For Dawn Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Waiting For Dawn

Walking I am all alone
on a hostile terrain
in a pool of darkness
the goal is unknown
yet my move is on
pits and bumps
many I crossed
falls and feigns
many I underwent
now and then
from the distant skies
guides me on
a dimmer light
before I could sustain
fades away the feeble hope
a dawn I await
to know my goal
where I could rest
In the laps of content
till such time
on and on! My walk is on!
