Waiting For A Rainbow Poem by Serena Blackinton

Waiting For A Rainbow

Waiting for a rainbow
A burst of colour amongst the grey
The neverending hope
That the rain has gone away

Waiting for a rainbow
To warm me from the inside out
Its colours striking a chord unknown
Erasing the dregs of doubt

Waiting for a rainbow
Or even a glimpse of the sun
The promise of a brighter tomorrow
Now that today is done

Waiting for a rainbow
Even though it's crystal clear
It's all an illusion, I know,
And yet can still bring forth cheer

Waiting for a rainbow
I'm so done with all the grey
Waiting for a rainbow
And the dawning of a new day.
