Waited At The Door Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Waited At The Door

Rating: 5.0

I waited at the door steps
Watched you stepping in gently
Everybody seemed to be in hurry
But still there was no sign of worry

I breathed heavily with so much anxiety
Observed intensely as if to find some variety
Cheeks red, face charming and pretty
You were the symbol of rose and descent beauty

You happened to be chief guest
Everything was prepared for your comforts and rest
I felt as if it was real show and test
Still there was so much eagerness to find out best

She was entering with foot steps mildly placing
Simple and elegant walk with accurate placing
Delicate movement with little shyness
Eyes were bright with delight and shines

I couldn’t stop you meeting with smile
Forgot to shake hand for a while
In my own home I felt as if a stranger
Blood just rushed on face but not with anger

It was simple get together and hello meet
Little music with melody coupled with sound of feet
All with pump and show with full joy
I stayed in corner as simple shy boy

I was confided before her arrival
Show was arranges as if coming of carnival
It was not less than any happy moment
It was quite and natural for all this movement

Was this all for simple get together or exchange?
Meeting of two souls to see and arrange
how best can we be couple tomorrow?
What should be the system and how to follow?

I liked the idea and simply consented
I gave my nod and presented
after al it was nice gathering
Bride’s face to be seen with gifts offerings

It is nice to hold such gathering at one place
Great pomp and show depends on simple case
Everybody enjoys the happy outcome and relation
I was amazed to witness the colorful facilitation

I was not in position to express inner joy
She was going to be my second half and not a toy
I never thought life would change dramatically
Everything was organized systematically

She tried to look at me through her eyes
There were many yes, no and whys
I tried to convey it positively by smiling
She shook her head with face so shining

I couldn’t resist the temptation to see her in private
I wanted to convey deeply and gracefully narrate
Why don’t we join hands for simple ceremony?
I could not decide whether to address her as miss or honey
