Wait. Poem by Morimyth Weaver

Wait.

Through the storm we're chasing sound
Down dirt roads, on unpaved ground.
We've held on fast, at last we've made it here.
Though clouds are thick, we must keep going.
No time to stumble, lift your head and show me.

We've got what it takes.
Just you wait.
Just wait...
Just wait... a bit.

Carry these wishes high.
Lift yourself,
Give it one more try.
Don't ever say quit
When I'm still by your side...

Just you wait.
Just wait...
Just wait... a bit.

Passing clouds, we're chasing sound
Through forests rich in hallowed ground.
Better hold on fast,
The end only knows what we'll find here.
Sacred humanity within, it must be showing.
No time to stumble, raise your head, now show me.

We've got what it takes.
Just you wait.
Just wait...
Just wait... a bit.

Carry these wishes high.
Lift yourself,
Give it one last try.
Don't ever say quit
When I'm still by your side...

Just you wait.
Just wait...
Just wait... a bit.

Through the storm
We're chasing sound
Down dirt roads
On unpaved ground
We held on fast
At last
We made it
Here.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Empty promises sound like encouragement to the untrained ear. Waiting for evidence is akin to pulling oneself up by the bootstraps, an impossible task by definition. Idealism is insanity repackaged into entitlement and belief that if one tries hard enough they'll be rewarded for their efforts. These souls fail to realise their struggle to be Sisyphusean in nature. When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time, or fall for the same trick the second.) O(
