Voices Poem by Emily Gasperak

Voices

Rating: 4.5

I'm sitting in a dark room
Crying all alone
With nothing that can stop me
Because nobody is home

The voices in my head
Say it will be quick and put me at ease
But then my conscience tells me otherwise
So i must do as i please

And as reality fades away
Fate starts to take its place
And as i start to cut myself
A single tear runs down my face

Then suddenly i hear a voice
One that's clearer than the others
And as my hand starts to loosen grip
I dropp the knife and shudder

Whose voice was that?
It sounded like...
But it couldnt be!
For what reason wolud somebody have
to say those words to me?

But i could swear it was those three little words
I've longed for someone to say
The same three little words
I hear everyone else say everyday

Then i heard some pounding
On my front door
And then i opened it to find out that
it was the boy whom i adore

He said:

'I could tell what you were up to
from the messege on my phone,
So i hurried to get over here
hoping you weren't already gone.'

But that is not the end of my story
Because it was form then on that i knew
That the voice i heard was his voice
Softly whispering I LOVE YOU!

This was a long time ago when i was going through some difficult times and i solved my problems in the wrong way, but i am better now oso please dont think i am hurting myself. Thanks!

Only the voice of a love one who truly cares can bring us back to reality... that we are being loved! High marks.

Nice piece Emily. I am glad you are feeling better, but there is no need to explain. That is the beauty of poetry, sharing each others pain. Thanks for sharing yours. Stone
