Voices Poem by Jamie Winfrey

Voices

From the moment I wake
My struggles begin
How do I face life?
When I hear these voices within

Some days they are quiet
But most often not
Can someone please tell me
Do I listen or NOT?

You thought that you knew me
By the exterior you see
But each day that I wake
I face my reality

My friends just say
With time this will pass
But I've heard them all my life
So I wonder
How long will this last?
