Voice That Fades Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Voice That Fades

You chose to float your own boat.
I merely suggested you check for leaks.
I get no satisfaction watching you sink...
Protecting what you think is your right!
I'm prepared to leave you alone...
Not to hear you bitch and moan,
With back biting gripes...
About what I am and what I am not in your eyes!
Despised in wasted hours day or night.
I am dry and don't mind passing you by at all.
I am not wishing for that kind of companion!
Call me what you like...
But it is your voice that fades in the distance!
I am not a vigilante,
Assigned to observe your plight.
