Vishnu

Rating: 5.0

Vishnu

One
Who creates
And pervades all
The creation by his
Magic

One
Beyond time
Space and matter
Yet he is all
That

Vishnu Sahastranaam

Defining
Vishnu with
Thousand names Who
Absolutely can not be
Defined

Quest
To know
One with thousand
Names who can't be
Known

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspiration for these simple five liners (or Cinquain if these lines can be called that) comes from my readings of Vishnu Sahastranaam an ancient lyrical Sanskrit poetry of describing Vishnu (Supreme being) with thousand names.

Mother nature transformed her beauty of creation as Brahma, her powers of destruction as Shiva and her love to caress her creatures as Vishnu. I don't find any difference in the various beliefs. We all say the same thing in our own styles. We say these are angels who have been delegated various powers to run this universe in a smooth way, you say these are Devis and Devtas. We say God sends meesengers to reform the world and you say it's Vishnu who incarnates himself as Avtars to fight the evil. We all believe the same abstract truth that has thousand names. A great poem!

Thank you Akhtar ji for your great comment. Yes the Truth is abstract, defined by many names. Wish more people will think that way.
