Violets Poem by Dollie Radford

Violets

VIOLETS, sweet violets,
I can find the fairest,
In a little ferny glen
Blossom all the rarest,
I can reach the leafy beds
Where they hide their dewy heads.
From the mossy stones and rocks
Where the pools are deepest,
I can leap across the stream
Where the banks are steepest,
And beneath the hawthorn get
Many a scented violet.
