Violation Iii Poem by ARUN D'CRUZE

Violation Iii

THE EYES THAT HUNT

Dark, ordinary, with a humble look,
but piercing glances he undertook.
like a commodity in the market,
in every respect they checked.
Then a ceremonial 'yes'.
With joy and happiness,
She was engaged, in a hurry.
Her consent was unnecessary.
The well-off farmer's humble boy
demanded a bike, possession of joy,
gold ornaments and nuptial dress
for groom and bride
lavish reception expense
to be borne by her side.
Father will have to sell
some land to fill the pail.

LOVE THAT BEGGS

Shankar, quiet handsome and tall
acts and sings in village drama
gets the heroin's meaty role
Roopbaan kanya, princess or sitama
enliven the characters so well,
boys shout, without shame
to the sweet and sexy dame.
Sings well in fine feminine voice
act male or female by his choice
cool and sober, quiet often,
each day, visited her by lane,
slows down near her aula fence,
smiled while exchanging glance.
What he wants to say
yet never say,
She feels an itch,
but no heeds to pay.
Sometimes in ceremonial crowd
comes closer, he becomes loud,
of his feelings, through caressing
and hidden touches, really harassing,
wanted to yield to the thrill
fear, uncertainty invaded her will.

Her parents say they're poor
no land, daily -wager
can't ensure,
a decent income
to make both ends meet,
handsome, nature sweet,
doesnot conform a credit.
