Victims Of The Past Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Victims Of The Past

Rating: 5.0

Shallow graves
of the victims
of the past
Haunt their tormentors
to the last

There's no escape
from the victims
of the past

Their coming for you
as you catch
your last breath

So tormentors beware
Just because
your victim is dead

It does not mean
they do not see

Few words... Huge impact! Introspection / reflection is ultimately our responsibility! Well put together, thanks for sharing!

The conscience like truth will out. A good poem, well done.

There is a slant in your writing...in a warning voice..one can feel the intonation behind the graph... yes, it does not mean/they do not see...

the whole poem is constantly shifting. like an unidentifiable voice hovering above the tormentor's head and aren't we all that tormentor? very good. dark warning and foreboding. -M

Your poems are so deep and meaningful! It seems as if this poem is about a mans conscience catching up on him. Very powerful!
