Vices & Virtues Poem by Nimmy Mary Leela Kurian Alilakuzhiyil

Vices & Virtues

Rating: 5.0

If prostitution is the cancer
Which perishes social values
If adultery is the crime
Which punishes family peace
If archery is the passion
Which sharpens one's sight
If corruption is the mortuary
Where fruits of society are dead
If violence is the donkey
Where carriers of youth travels
If postmortem is the report
Which proves wrongs in living body
Why prostitution named
Oldest profession ever?
Why adultery runs deep in veins
Without gender discrimination?
Why archery named favorite
favorite past time of high strata?
Why sacks of good will, faith
& non violence cannot be vegetables?
Let poems of wisdom
Let words of blessings
Let soaps of tears of laugh
Let plants of non violence
Let seeds of own sweat
Adorn our homes and families
Where society remains at peace.
