Venus De Milo Poem by Practicing Poetess

Venus De Milo

Rating: 5.0

Lovely Lady, full of mystery
You're much more than only History
You're the stuff men's dreams are made of,
Lovely armless goddess of love.
Standing proudly at the Louvre in Paris,
Simple classic beauty, nothing garish.
It's been said at one time, you wore jewelry
Along with your arms, no longer there to see.
Odes have been written on those missing arms,
But their absence only adds to your charms.
Why weren't those arms ever replaced or repaired?
To tamper with your intrigue, no one ever dared.

This poem is about the famous Venus de Milo marble statue on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Men who yearn to fall into her arms, will have to be content to do so only in dreams.

To tamper with her beauty, no one ever dared. She looks fabulous even WITHOUT arms! Thanks, Prabir! : -)
