Venom Poem by Amy Stuart

Venom

A snakebite never healing
all antidotes unyeilding cure
sixteen years of tainted blood
your poison hits all that was pure

Time should heal all wounds
how long is the wait?
death missed its target once
i shouldn't continue tempting fate

This slowly moving poison hurts
it moves through destroying hope and joy
to fight to move on, just takes too much
I'll cut deeper this time, I'm done playing coy

fall down to hell and burn forever
it burns less than your abuse did
your neglect and stinging words and hands
everlasting venom put into your kid
