Vanished Lake Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Vanished Lake

Lake Poopo once
Second largest
In Bolivia
All one thousand
Square kilometers
Of salt water
Vanished within
Last four years.

The lake was once
The livelihood of
Uru-Morato people
And abode for a variety
Of fish and birds
It exists no more
A clear victim
Of climate change.

Man must use
Resources no doubt
But never must neglect
Future effects
Nature getting warmer
Will deplete water
Lakes vanish
And oceans go low.

Great message delivered in a beautiful way. Very well said, lakes may disappear due to change in climate.

It is a dreadful situation.....! This happens everywhere! Many of the swift flowing and large rivers have now thinned down into a mere trickle in Kerala! A precautionary alert!

A gruesome warning. Thoughtful write, Sir.
