Value Village Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Value Village

Value village

Going round in cheap shops
(Left overs, second hand and used ones)
Is a world of own kind.

There, people are of kinds
Mainly two, to serve, buy
And each one has a world
Mostly they do converge
Each is a galaxy with stars
(The too old, very young)

But still, all stars, there to shine.

I can go and observe, make movies
Can write books and poems, stories.

Composers come and write the scores
Pop and Rock, classics.

Videos must be made, documents…

See that girl, the cashier?
Look at her,
She has shave her eyebrows and painted,
She is now a Qajar with Vasmeh
Looks at her nostrils to ears with pierce…
She is an Indian…a Hindu or Buddhist, other cast.

Look outside, bicycle
On is lays a food box, deliver.

Both of girls work hard but
Not enough their income…
They buy the second hand…

In public
Far from buying source
The two look far better than the rich
Forget those in coupe and race cars
Ignore the Ferrari…and the Porsche.
