Valleys Poem by Richard Merrell

Valleys

I thank God for the valleys
That he takes me through at times;
For valleys are the places where
God teaches the sublime.

For from the mountian top
The view is clear and far
But when in the valley depths -
You will find out who you are.

For at the bottom of the valley
Is the shadow that is of death;
The arena of many battles
Where Satan tries to steal your breath.

Yet in my darkest valley of life
Another one I see,
Who tells in soft and gentle words
'I have walked the deepest valley for thee'

So that all the valleys I now walk
Shall but lead me to higher ground,
For water always runs downhill
And at Yeshua's side it's found!

John 19: 34
