Valentine's Day Poem by Barry Jablonski

Valentine's Day

Happy couples celebrate this day
With gifts of love put on display
A day of sadness for those alone
Love for them remains unknown

Wrapped inside their solitude
They wait for holidays to intrude
And though rejected with disdain
They can't escape the lonely pain

Lovers rejoice on Valentine's day
With vows of love only they can say
The lonely would much rather forget
This holiday filled with sad regret

So if your Valentine does comes true
Be grateful there was one for you
