Us Lonely Women.... Poem by karen sinclair

Us Lonely Women....

Rating: 5.0

Once where there were pub brawls
Smile drools
Hand crawls
Mind
Stroking our alabaster skin

And wants that wandered our
Open planes
Those sighed remains
Memoirs of hopefilled
Touching

And....

Then bawling babes that munched full breast
Crawling toddlers
Eyes settled pon hopeful moons
As they rested smiling
Upon our gorgeous chest

Our backs that grew from strength to strong
With friendship shoulders
Over long
Our smiles that slowly altered lossed

Wait...that moment
Realisation

The once strong smile is jaded ignored
Attention scene as greed
Hurtful abhorred
Draped in apron
And tea cloth wet

I wasn't prepared for this
Just yet

So now I am my mans best friend
My children love
Yet small time spend
Item desire a long lost dream
And all i am
Wasted cream

A beautiful write of how life's progress does not meet what we may expect. And yet we are all supposedly less desirable (in our own minds) except by those that are definitely undesirable, but hopefully we are still loved as we sag and bloat.

This poem is beautiful. It brings out the essence of a life under circumstances of solitude and strength emanating from knowing how things evolve into philosophy. The words and visuals are very clean in composition and the content is managed in subtle detail. The poets technique of using the verb to round of the line formation and wrap around the next line gives its its authenticity. A very pleasant read this morning. Well done.
