don't encourage that bear
who's sat down on the chair,
right next, on your left.....
as it's feeling bereft,
and yes, it has stepped
on your toes....
gently at first....then with a thirst....
both wily and bumbling,
all whispers and rumbling...
if you feed it a snap
it'll climb in your lap....
but you say, ' We'll just see how it goes'

Bears cannot be trusted, but the same might be said of humans. There is a bit of fright, a bit of hope, and much humor in this poem. |
