Unwinding Heart

The unwinding heart slowly tightens as it is set to flight
Mortared brick crumbles all around
Not a sound but my silent frown
being turned one corner up the next down
Sharpening my eyes, clinching my stained teeth, not letting go
Slow to know the only show is the mirror, the fear of truth
Closing one eye with a tear forming in the other
Closing the other as the dripping love falls away
from one to another
Spinning the unwinding heart with an ever slowing beat
Rebuilding with a stronger foundation,
turning the other corner up
being joined in the mirror with the truth told
