Untrue Friends Poem by Aurea Armbruster

Untrue Friends

My friends are my only protection
Against the cruel world outside my door
They will always be there
That is what friends are supposed to do

Friends are supposed to be there
But sometimes they are not
“Your best friend can be your worst enemy”
That is very true

You think that they are your best friend
You tell them all of your dark secrets
They turn around
And use it all against you

They say that they never spread it
It must have been another friend
Many people make the mistake of believing them
But I will never trust them again
