Untorned

I made a final and
Formal decision
Regarding you
being in my life
Iam no longer torn
I shall no longer be
Used by the likes of you
I shall no longer be
Your vice
Fragments pieces. of the past
Can no longer suffice
Iam strong enough now
To see through your senseless ways
Evil and tasteless games, and
Dismissed it all
Without shame
From today
You no longer
Hold a vital place
All the pain and hurt bought on
By you
Has been completely erased,
Replaced with courage
Therefore, as of today
I publicly
forgiven you
Iam no longer
Broken
Only our former relationship
Is truly
Torn

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

I thought of you and how you love this beauty,
And walking up the long beach all alone
I heard the waves breaking in measured thunder
As you and I once heard their monotone.
