Untitled 5 Poem by Jeremy M. Dreher

Untitled 5

What is it that keeps you going?
For me it's just the simple thrill
That comes along from our simple free will
Everyday's a change
Some changes are at first rather strange
But we could get used to anything
I hate everyday issues that spread nationally
Were all the cause, we need to think more rationally
Focus on the goals that mean the most
I myself wish I were less milquetoast
Wishing is such a strange concept
It makes you think of what you really want
Although in a way it's mostly a taunt
Even if three wish genies turn to be real
They would be in the hands of who lie, cheat, and steal
If given the chance, my first of three wishes
Would be for a talking kitten to do my dishes
My second wish, wish number two
Would be for felicity to spread unto all of you
You being the world, and as for wish three
It would be for three more wishes for me
See were all selfish
In our own little ways
But no one knows or thinks about it
They just carry on there days
