Untitled Poem by Austin Jones

How
can
you
know what you do
and strike me yet
ignoring
talking just enough to
keep
me hooked
I am stuck
I would still die for you
even now
after all
the nights of lines
taking mental to what is real
Even after the months ignored
and the pain I feel
You hear me say
'you're beautiful'
know it is from the bottom of my heart
acknowledge my words
maybe
if I'm lucky
and
once a blue moon
show me what it feels like
to be loved
you hold me close
but never for real
I hand you a rose
hoping to heal
the gap between
a rose forged red with
my adoration
the blood of the lines
taking mental to what is real
from the months ignored
and all the signs
left on who I am
changed for
because of
you
I trust
you still
my heart
life
in your hand
yet a barbed dart
in your other hand still
keeping me
tied
chained
by my love
your beauty
inside and out
that which you protest
you do not possess
and yet I see
How
can
you
not trust me
